Here's an item I worked on with the lovely @Vertigheist on twitter! A skull-themed knight's helm based on some of verti's artwork!
I started by box modeling the helmet from scratch, then I subsurfed the skull bit and sculpted in details, baked it all down to object space normal maps (which i turned into point light maps) and ambient occlusion maps, which I used as a basis for my otherwise hand-painted textures.
